Füred Art Week 2026

For this year's Füred Art Week, Random Contemporary Balaton/Budapest (RCB Gallery) once again presents a selection that introduces several new artists to its programme. As visitors have come to expect over the years, the gallery's presentation is built around a dialogue between emerging talents and established artists, creating encounters across generations and artistic approaches. This dual perspective is reflected not only in the selection itself but also in the gallery's development: following its foundation in Örvényes in 2021, RCB opened its first Budapest space earlier this year, extending the vision established at its original Balaton venue.

This year's presentation focuses on works of commanding presence. Some assert themselves through monumental scale, while others captivate through extraordinary chromatic depth and conceptual complexity, offering visitors an immersive visual and emotional experience.

The gallery's newest represented artist, Anna Bobály, whose interdisciplinary practice moves fluidly across media, presents large-scale black compositions that explore the relationship between light and absence, creating works that are both contemplative and visually compelling. In parallel, sculptures by Andor Becskei and Antal Plank, installed within the surroundings of the Balatonfüred Congress Center, reinterpret the notion of monumentality in dialogue with the site's architecture and public space.

The meticulously constructed geometric language of Balázs Kontúr provides a subtle transition between the exhibition's different visual registers, leading the viewer toward the lyrical, almost poetic works of József Zalavári and Levente Bálványos. Their works offer a harmonious counterpoint to the exhibition's expansive black surfaces and monumental sculptures, establishing a balanced rhythm throughout the presentation.

Completing the selection are the paintings of Dániel Fábián, whose rigorously composed practice is grounded in the investigation of colour theory. Built with almost architectural precision, his works combine disciplined structure with vibrant chromatic energy, bringing the presentation to a dynamic conclusion.

Rather than a simple grouping of artworks, this year's presentation by Random Contemporary Balaton/Budapest unfolds as a carefully orchestrated visual narrative in which monumentality, lyricism, materiality and conceptual inquiry remain in continuous dialogue, shaping the visitor's experience as a coherent whole.
