Dániel Fábián

Dániel Fábián is a Hungarian painter who graduated from the Painting Department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. His work has been presented in numerous group exhibitions throughout Hungary. At the core of his artistic practice is the study of colour theory, which he explores through the relationship between contemporary painting and digital image-making. His diploma project was recognised with the university's Best of Diploma award.

Fábián's paintings investigate the perceptual possibilities of colour. Through carefully mixed pigments and translucent, overlapping layers, he translates the vibrant luminosity of the digital image into the material language of painting. Colour is not treated as a secondary attribute of composition but as the primary organising principle, generating spatial depth, visual rhythm, and the experience of movement.

Drawing upon the reductive formal language of Constructivism while engaging with the visual logic of digital imaging, Fábián develops a painterly vocabulary that bridges analogue and digital modes of perception. Overlapping planes, subtle transitions, and transparent layers evoke both the classical language of painting and the layered structures of digital image editing. His geometric compositions are not static arrangements but dynamic optical fields that evolve through the viewer's perception.

Within Fábián's meticulously structured painterly language, rigorous compositional order is balanced by the vibrant intensity of colour. His work explores how painting can reinterpret the visual experience of the digital age through its own material means.
