Anett Takács

Anett Takács (b. 1994) is a Hungarian visual artist based in Budapest. She graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where she also obtained her qualification as a teacher of fine arts. Her studies were complemented by international scholarship programmes and the Budapest Art Mentor programme. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Hungary, including at the Vasarely Museum, HÁROM HÉT Gallery, Gregersen Art Point, and the Budapest Contemporary art fair.

At the core of Takács's artistic practice is the relationship between geometric abstraction and space. Her monochrome paintings function not as static pictorial surfaces but as installational elements: their foldable geometric structures allow them to assume different configurations in each exhibition space. Rather than existing as fixed objects, the works are conceived as visual systems that remain in continuous dialogue with their architectural surroundings.

Drawing inspiration from geometric structures found in nature, Takács transforms them into an abstract yet organic visual language. Her work investigates shifting viewpoints and the transition between two- and three-dimensional space, exploring the dynamic relationship between colour, form, and spatial perception.

Takács's practice is deeply informed by the Hungarian tradition of Pseudo Art, particularly the work of Gyula Pauer and László Méhes. She employs the language of geometric abstraction not as a self-contained formal system, but as a means of examining perception, spatiality, and the fluid nature of visual meaning.
